WFH: 4 Stretches for Better Posture

WFH: 4 Stretches for Better Posture

Has working from home caused you to have soreness in your neck and back? Here are a few stretches that can help alleviate those aches and pains.

NECK ROLLS

Staring all day in the same position can really put a strain on your neck. Neck rolls help stretch and alleviate stiffness in your neck. For this stretch, tilt your head to the right and start slowly moving your head in a clockwise direction. Once you have completed 3-5 circles, tilt your head to the left and start moving your head counterclockwise.

SHOULDER ROLLS

Dropping your shoulders as you sit can make you slouch, which can affect your back. You can do this stretch without leaving your desk or standing. Simply lift your shoulders as high as they can go and move them forward in a circular motion. Repeat the same motion going backwards in a circular motion.

CHEST OPENER

First make sure you are standing with your feet shoulder width apart. Put your hands together behind your lower back. Slowly pull your shoulders back and extend your arms. For a deeper stretch, bend forward until your back is flat.

SPINE TWISTER

If you are sitting on a chair, turn your shoulders around and grab the top of the chair with your hands and pull your shoulders around your back as far as you can without moving your hips. Hold this position for five seconds and then return to the starting position. Repeat the other way around.
